Gullwing Conservatories
Gullwing Conservatories from Direct Conservatories 4U
The gullwing conservatory is a modern twist on the Victorian conservatory, with the extravagant gothic influence, but without the rigid hexagonal structure. The gullwing offers a more flexible shape, allowing you to have indulgent conservatories without having to have a rectangular plot of land for them to sit on.
The footprint of the gullwing is also hexagonal, but with one long side against the property, allowing the other five sides to give subtle angles to the conservatory shape. It is these subtle angles that give the roof its distinctive wings, hence the name gullwing. The result is an elegant and indulgent conservatory perfect for entertaining.
The Gullwing conservatory is often the choice of the modern home owner, who wants something more elaborate than an Edwardian conservatory or traditional lean-to, but who feels the Victorian style is unsuited to their property.

Styles and types of Gullwing conservatory
Our Gullwing conservatories are available in dwarf wall, infill panel and glass to ground styles. The small brick wall at the base of the conservatory, which gives the dwarf wall style its name, makes the conservatory look like an integral part of the house.
Infill panel conservatories emulate the style of a traditional sunroom. They give the additional privacy the dwarf wall style offers, but are easier to self-build. Glass to ground conservatories offer less privacy than dwarf wall and infill panel conservatories, but give maximum light exposure.
For diagrams of your panel options please visit Panel Styles.
All our conservatory roofs are made from PVCu-clad aluminium which come in two finishes: white PVCu and woodgrain PVCu. The aluminium core gives the roof structure additional strength. We only use grade 1 virgin high quality durable PVCu, no re-grind, therefore we can guarantee against PVCu discolouration.
Our conservatories are made from a unique framing system, which combine structural integrity with a faster, easier installation, and include two top-opening vents and a pair of French doors (sometimes called “French windows”) as standard. We offer a number of conservatory extras to allow you to personalise your conservatory.
Our roofs are glazed with polycarbonate panels as standard. The glazing options are: clear, opal, bronze and bronze on opal tinted 25mm or 35mm polycarbonate panels or Celsius Performance Glass.
Budget conservatories
We offer a range of budget conservatories, available in dwarf wall and glass to ground styles. All of our budget conservatories come with two top-opening vents, a pair of French doors and 25mm opal polycarbonate roof sheets as standard. (Gullwing conservatories are not available in our budget range.)
